Developing My Poster

I started off by adding in the title of my trailer. I 
played around with fonts but decided on this one as 
I felt that it clearly represented the genre of horror.

I then added in some credits. As it would be me
 editing, shooting and producing everything I only
 included my two main actors, as this is conventional 
for a movie poster.

After this I added in a release date and a little plug 
at the bottom of the page as this is also a
conventional feature, which I learnt from my research 
when I looked at other movie poster.

Next I added a rating for my film as this is something
 that I noticed other posters had. Along with this they 
normally have the production company logo(s) but as I 
am creating my trailer independently I could not add this in.

After this, I added an age censorship to my poster, as I found that this was conventional after I looked at other movie posters.

I then added in my image and changed the text to white to match the titles on my front cover and trailer. I also edited the sky in the background to give the photo an eerie feel. However, I felt that the font wasn't very clear and my protagonists weren't clear enough so I decided to choose another photo.  

I placed this photo onto photoshop to see if this would make my text more readable. However, with the white font it didn't work. I tried black and then finally red, however, I was still not happy with the outcome and how easy it was to read my title.

I then chose this picture. I felt that this photo worked really well and captured both the setting and my protagonists well enough to make them stand out. The white font also worked well and was readable over this photo so I decided to keep it. However, I then realised that my strap line wasn't too clear; this was the next thing I started working on.

To finish my poster, I enlarged the strap line and placed a white rectangle box behind the text with the opacity turned basically all the way down. This now made my strap line noticeable and readable. I think made the release date the same colour to make it stand out and to also tie the colour in more to the post.
